Control Engineer

A leading automation and control systems integrator is seeking an
experienced Electrical-Control Systems Engineer III to design, implement, and
commission advanced control and monitoring systems across industrial and municipal
sectors.

You’ll play a hands-on role bringing automation systems to life — from concept and
design to programming, testing, and on-site commissioning. This is an exciting
opportunity to work with modern technologies, collaborate with cross-functional

Key Responsibilities

• Design and specify hardware/software for industrial control systems using
UL508A, NEC, and IEEE standards
• Configure and program PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems for industrial and
water/wastewater applications
• Lead mid- to large-scale automation projects, mentoring junior engineers as
needed
• Perform on-site commissioning, I/O checkout, functional testing, and
startup of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and instrumentation
• Troubleshoot automation hardware, software, and communication networks in
real-time
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure smooth
project delivery
• Provide post-installation support and technical service as required
• Redline drawings, document commissioning activities, and support project
closeout

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation,
Instrumentation, or equivalent hands-on experience
• 5–7+ years of experience in automation design, programming, startup, or
commissioning roles
• Proficiency in Rockwell (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk
View), Siemens, Schneider, GE, VTScada, or Ignition
• Strong understanding of Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus TCP, serial, and wireless
communication networks
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, single-line diagrams, and electrical
schematics
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong commitment to safety and quality
• Willingness to travel 30–60% for on-site commissioning and customer support
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GE iFIX, Schneider Unity/Control Expert, or Siemens TIA Portal
• Familiarity with instrument calibration, loop checks, and VFD startup (ABB,
Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.)
• OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training
