Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Engineer – Hybrid Role
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Engineer for a hybrid role that combines in-office collaboration with on-site client engagement. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and impactful environment, contributing to exciting industrial projects.
Role Overview:
As an ICS Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing control systems and DCS/PLC/SCADA programming. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with electrical systems, instrumentation, and industrial control systems/IT. The role includes system design, development, programming, integration, troubleshooting, commissioning, start-up, and optimization. Senior-level candidates will be expected to provide technical leadership, mentorship, and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program and configure PLC, HMI, DCS, and SCADA systems
- Design and integrate automated equipment and systems
- Develop hardware and software design specifications
- Write, test, and document PLC/HMI software
- Prepare control documentation, including narratives, logic diagrams, cause & effect diagrams, and network diagrams
- Execute system validation and testing protocols
- Troubleshoot and support on-site system start-up
- Perform QA/QC testing of control panels
- Participate in site visits and project meetings
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure project success
- Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field—or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in control systems design and programming, focusing on PLC, HMI, and SCADA
- Strong preference for experience with Ignition Software; certifications are a plus
- Familiarity with control system documentation (e.g., P&IDs, I/O lists, cause & effect matrices)
- Working knowledge of instrumentation, end elements, and electrical interfaces
- Experience with control system networking and industrial communication protocols
- Familiarity with motor control systems and variable frequency drives (VFDs)
- Ability to obtain a TWIC card
- Willingness to travel locally to client sites as needed
- Strong communication and project coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a team-oriented environment
