We are seeking an experienced Senior Controls Engineer to provide technical leadership in the design, development, and implementation of automation and control systems. This role involves creating custom machine control solutions based on project and customer requirements. You will manage projects, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to ongoing innovation and process improvement across engineering teams.

  • Solid practical understanding of electrical design, including reading, interpreting, and troubleshooting schematics (NFPA/ISO)
  • Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to collaborate with customers while working within project scope, deadlines, and constraints
  • Strong performance under pressure
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to resolve sophisticated technical problems
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 20%)

Qualifications & Experience


Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanics, or a related technical field
10+ years of experience with PLC and motion-control platforms in the automation or manufacturing sector
Required: Hands-on experience with Siemens and Rockwell/Allen-Bradley systems
Experience with HMI platforms such as Rockwell, Siemens, Omron, or Beckhoff (preferred)
Preferred: Experience programming or teaching industrial robots
Preferred: Experience with machine vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence)
Experience with safety PLCs, safety devices, and fail-safe electrical systems
Location

This role is based in the southeastern United States, with travel throughout North America as needed.
