Job Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical and mechanical control system designs based on engineering principles, applicable standards, and customer requirements
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design, build, and implement automation solutions, including:
  • Creating electrical schematics
  • Reviewing bills of materials
  • Programming PLC, HMI, servo, and robotic systems
  • Designing safety circuits
  • Documenting and testing systems
  • Supporting on-site system commissioning
  • Provide on-site technical support for PLC, HMI, VFD, servo systems, and general control troubleshooting
  • Serve as project lead, ensuring automation projects are delivered accurately, on time, and within budget
  • Design, build, and integrate automation systems from concept through installation
  • Interpret customer requirements and identify engineering considerations based on discussions and process observations
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support future business opportunities
  • Assist in mentoring and training junior engineering staff
  • Maintain thorough documentation of project work and customer communications

Requirements


  • U.S. citizenship
  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work both independently and in team settings
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and quickly learn new software/technical topics
  • Willingness to travel as needed for customer support

Technical Skills


Proficiency with Allen-Bradley control platforms; Siemens TIA Portal experience is a plus
Ability to design electrical schematics; experience with AutoCAD Electrical is beneficial
Experience modifying industrial robot systems (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA preferred)
Knowledge of safety standards and implementation of safety systems; experience with safety controllers is advantageous
Experience with additional automation platforms, SCADA systems, or reporting tools
Familiarity with 3D modeling tools (e.g., Autodesk Inventor), pneumatics, hydraulics, and machine vision systems
