A leading systems integration and engineering firm is expanding its automation and
electrical engineering team and is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer.
The organization delivers automation solutions for critical process and safety
applications across multiple industries and is continuing to grow its engineering and
integration capabilities.
The ideal candidate is highly motivated, detail-oriented, self-directed, and able to
engage professionally with co-workers, vendors, and customers. Strong experience with
MV, LV, and UPS electrical equipment, along with power distribution solutions
commonly used in the Energy sector and other industrial markets, is required.
This role offers the opportunity to join a strong technical team providing advanced
automation, engineering, and integrated solutions to support growth across the Energy
sector and other emerging U.S. industries.

Key Responsibilities / Expectations:

• Full understanding of facility requirements including one-line diagrams, area
classifications, interconnect wiring diagrams, plans, details, and cable
schedules
• Experience sizing, specifying, and selecting MV and LV electrical equipment,
including integration and layout of motor control centers (MCCs) and PDC
buildings

• Ability to engineer, design, and specify MV/LV switchgear, MCCs, VFDs, soft-
starts, UPS systems, and transformers for PDC building applications

• Experience with synchronous motors and solutions for controlling in-rush
current
• Responsible for content and quality of electrical designs, including integrated
MCC buildings
• Familiarity with NFPA 70, 70E, 497, AGA XF0277, API RP 500, and related codes
• Experience reviewing and designing to NEC and IEC requirements
• Ability to review customer, vendor, and EPC drawings and incorporate them into
project designs

• Ability to perform power system studies: short circuit, arc-flash, and protective
device coordination (including on-site data collection)
• Understanding of SEL, GE Multilin, and Beckwith protective relays and their
applications
• Ability to interpret and develop MV/LV one-lines, load lists, hazardous area plans,
wiring diagrams, schematics, specifications, data sheets, and calculations
• Ability to perform arc-flash and advanced electrical studies using ETAP or SKM
and present results to clients
• Perform cost-benefit analysis to develop robust, cost-effective electrical designs
• Review and check detailed design drawings, documents, and RFQ packages for
accuracy and completeness
• Ability to assess existing power systems and propose modifications
• Provide work progress reporting and input to project execution plans
• Solicit vendor quotes for MV/LV and UPS equipment to support procurement and
proposal development
• Support business development by providing technical details, pricing, and
proposal input
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Maintain or be capable of obtaining a Professional Engineer license

Qualifications & Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in MV/LV power distribution systems in the Energy
sector
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas
• Training in NEC, IEC, and related electrical codes
• Experience analyzing and designing power and control circuits, including MCCs,
switchgear, VFDs, UPS equipment, power transformers, distribution panels, and
transfer switches
• Protection relay experience preferred
• Arc flash and power system studies experience preferred

• Experience designing power systems for Midstream Oil & Gas, Refinery, and
Industrial Energy clients
• PLC programming/systems experience is a plus
• Strong communication skills with management, customers, and vendors
• Motivated, proactive, and able to take ownership of tasks

• Willingness to travel (minimum 20%)
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
